Welcome to the wonderful world of Cyril Adair, where the rightful place of every face is securely squished between his sole of his boot and the ground. He's the one who initially provided the Shinkansen with their Urakata partners, and now serves as the organization's personal trainer. He isn't particularly proud of his father's work, especially considering the fact that he blames his father's incompetence for the death of his friends and family, so any act of disobedience from a Shinkansen Urakata will be promptly blamed on his father rather than himself. That said, he's always more than happy to "amend" these flaws if a Shinkansen human requests it.

To be perfectly honest, many of Cyril's punishments for the Urakata he's training could easily be classified as torture. Still, he's strangely composed about the whole system: he never looses his cool, but he also never needs to raise his voice to a shout. He's also a bit unconventional in that he doesn't strictly treat Urakata like animals. In his mind, they aren't pets. A thoughtful, reasoning Urakata is much more useful than a dog on a leash. Consequently, a lot of mind games/brainwashing/philosophy are involved in his training as well. In the end, he doesn't want to break them. He wants them to fully, unquestioningly believe that obediently serving a human master is the most satisfying and noble of causes.

I could tell you Cyril's entire philosophy on the enslavement of Urakata and maintaining a balance of power, but I'm pretty sure talking about more plot-relevant things would be a more productive use of everyone's time )o)

As far as Shinkansen go, he's a more behind-the-scenes player. He doesn't like making a big scene or memorable dramatic entrances. The majority of the public knows his name and maybe some rumors of his past (e.g. how his house and family burned when he was a child and has terrible scarring which renders him unable to feel because of it), and Cyril is perfectly content to just leave it at that. When he goes out in public, he'll even hide his scars with concealing clothes and makeup as to not draw attention to himself. Therefore, it's entirely possible for some people who know him outside of the Shinkansen to not realize exactly who he is.

friends - Eh, you can try. Cyril's pretty antisocial and emotionally dead, though.

shinkansen humans - Work partners, woo! )o) You can hate him, be creeped out by him, be utterly confused by him, or just find him and his sadistic antics entertaining. Of something entirely different! Idk, I'm up for anything <3

shinkansen urakata - So, you may have been trained by him for a time, trained by his father, or just heard rumors about how you should AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE. If you want to work out past histories and such, I'm all for it ouod

another slave - Even though Hayden is really fantastic and there's a 0% chance of Cyril trading him ever, having a jumping spider urakata as well to help chase down runaways would be pretty awesome.

urakata-in-training - So of course Cyril has Urakata who are still in training to either become Shinkansen or get sold to average citizens.

others - Anyone outside of the Shinkansen who knows him: Urakata breeders, informants, slaves he happens to see in the auction house, masters he happens to meet, people who work for his hotel chain, etc. Get creative and much plots shall be had )o) Also, if you want plots but don't know how or why they'd meet, post anyway and I can help think of things!
