How long had it been? Days, weeks, maybe even months? Michael Hayse did not know. To answer the internal question that had been racing through the mind of Michael Hayse, it had been a month and a half since the teenager had been captured, and brought to the auction house. A month and a half of imprisonment in a cage with crummy food, and dirty water. Most importantly, it had been a month and half and still no buyers for Michael the lion Urutaka who had been captured in a forest from a nearby town.
Today was just another day for Michael. For a couple of weeks Michael had been on display for all the potential master seen. In the front of the building, Michael had been placed on exhibition. Even if Michael could not read, he knew that the people who were currently in position of him were worried that he would not sell. On the top of the gleaming metal cage there was a black and red sign that said, “Discounted!”
Even though Michael could not read that term that had been placed on top of his cage, he could tell that there was a need to sell him. He had been given a new pair of jeans. This time the jeans actually fit him. Of course, the blue jeans were still loose, and had a rip on one of the knees, but they were an upgrade over his dirty jeans that would slide off his waist.
On a mat, at the back of the cage the shirtless Michael sat. His skin had lost some of the darker nature it had developed as a tan. In reality. Even his ears which were normally pointed were starting to droop. Michael’s face also had dirt on it. And even his dirty blond hair looked darker and unclean. Everything seemed to be visible for the Urutaka who had become a spectacle, except for his eyes.
His eyes were closed. Sealed shut, he tried to escape this hell he now called a life. In his mind, Michael was trying to send himself to that “happy place.” Of course, Michael’s happy place was his village in the forest. Doing his best to think of anything happy Michael thought of his first successful hunt, his first kiss, and the first time he sung for people. However, nothing could change where he was, his foolish acts; his hell.
Slowly, his eyes opened. Revealing the crimson eyes that he had become known for at the auction house. Tiredly looking out on everything, Michael watched the potential buyers. He wasn’t going to go out of his way to get himself sold, but he was starting to want to get out of the cage.
Michael guessed that today was not going to be the day that he was going to get sold. Today seemed like it was a slow day. As his red eyes stared straight ahead, Michael could tell that only a few people were coming to the Auction House. With a sigh he pulled his legs up, and placed his hands on his legs.
“Kill me, please.” The captured Urutaka said to himself as he just looked up just above his knees.

| An important part of owning a dog is making sure they're walked regularly. Or so the internet had told him. Now, Kosuke was cognizant of the fact that animals and urakata weren't exactly the same, but he had good intentions. Poor Silvio had been chained up outside by himself for a long time, to then coop him up in an apartment seemed...Wrong. It was hard for him to work up the courage to go outside again so soon, he was a recluse at heart and a timid one at that. . .But it was a little easier when it was for someone else's good rather than his own. So they had set out, no destination in mind really, just to walk around. Kosuke stretched until his spine gave a little pop, reaching his arms high above his head, fingers wiggling in the cool winter air.
After a moment he lowered his arms and curled his hands about his scarf, absently fidgeting with the hem of the fabric. Glancing sideways to the wolf accompanying, he smiled a bit. "It's, um, it's a nice day out, huh?" The wind in his hair was nice, and even a hermit like him had to bask in it. He wasn't able to sit and soak in the atmosphere for long though, as something caught his eye. There were people milling about in front of a building and...oh.
It was the auction house. A place the programmer wasn't fond of at all. He didn't like the fact that Urakata were treated so poorly to begin with, to see them on display like that...But it seemed like one lone creature had been put out in a cage in front of the building. People gathered for a little bit then wandered off. Frowning slightly, he let out a low huff. "Maybe we could say hi...at least?" Some company would be reassuring, right? He glanced to Silvio uncertainly before moving forward and approaching the cage.

The wolf boy was wearing Kosuke's clothes still, he said he liked the scent of them. So of course Silvio hadn't changed out of them. Instead he just bounced around, and glanced at the places around them. To others he might not seem like a slave. He was just way too excited. And Kosuke didn't seem to be telling the wolf to stop either. Ears and tail flicking around at each new scent, and sound that reached his ears. Being tied up outside, and being able to explore were two different things. He just looked over at his master and blinked. Where had they ended up? Really the slave didn't know, and he almost didn't care. Silvio was enjoying his time out with his master. As he usually did before his master locked him outside.
"Ko-kun can we go to that place! The one with the meat shaped like patties! please!? It'll be fun." The boy laughed, and just snuggled up to his master. Nuzzling the older male for a moment before bouncing away. He didn't care much for this. It probably couldn't be that bad for him or anything. Both of them had been around each other for a few days. He didn't mind being locked inside really. But he was also a wolf. Wolves didn't like to be stuck inside, so he'd rather just not stay in there for long. Though the apartment was warm, and comfortable. It almost made him feel as if he had a real home to be in.
One that wouldn't toss him out into the streets. The boy just looked at the cage outside of the Auction house and tugged on Kosuke's sleeve. He didn't want to go here. He hated the auction house. Silvio had escaped it by being purchased. Then bought again before his old master decided to ship him off. "Master...can we go. I don't like this place, it's creepy." That was all he had to say. After all Urakata weren't found of those places. They never had been to begin with anyway. That slave there was weird enough, Silvio just slipped his hand into Kosuke's bag pulling out one of his chew toys. Holding it in his hands he just gave a small nod. But he'd avoid the cage.
"I'm not getting too close to that. They'll attack..." He followed Kosuke and just kept close to him, clinging to the toy. He didn't get close to the cage so they couldn't touch him. It was so strange. Michael had to become use to become on display constantly. People would always be watching the Urutaka, scoping him out for possible servitude. It had been that Michael would hiss or growl at the human trying to scare them way. But that was when Michael had strength. Now he was hungry, tired, and mentally drained. Almost like one of those drugged puppy or cats, Michael seemed docile. Everything about his body posture, said he was tired. A pair people did catch his rubicund eyes. This pair was of an Urutaka and a Master. A pair that was coming over to him.
Michael’s head cocked to the right as he watched the two approach him. He was intrigue. Of course he knew that there were Masters and slaves, but never before had he seen a pair in real life. It seemed they were happy, and most importantly, the Urutaka seemed to like the Master he had. More importantly, he seemed alright being the pet to this human. Narrowing his red eyes Michael made note of what he thought of was a brainwashed Urutaka. Still, Michael was intrique.
Leaning forward, Michael moved himself closer to the edge of the cage. He licked his lips a bit as he thought about what he could do. He could speak, he could hiss, or he could just ignored him. After a minute or so, Michael decided on his action. Licking his lips again, Michael opened his mouth.
“Hello?” He said in a low, gentle tone as he started at them, his head still cocked to the side. He honestly did not know what to make of this pair. |

| His cheeks flushed slightly as he was treated with such affection. It felt good to have a friend that one could share hugs with, and have them returned in kind. Really, in general, 'owning' a urakata made him feel good. It wasn't that he got any sense of power out of being a 'master' but, having the companionship was nice...And helping Silvio out was also a bonus. If he could do things to heal any mental or physical wounds left by the wolf's old master, then all the better. "Oh, that does sound good...Um, how about we go there after here?" One of his awkward-but-friendly smiles crept onto his pale features as he peered over to the canine, reaching one hand out to pet the male's ears affectionately.
As they approached the auction house, Silvio's response to the building made him frown a bit. He tried to impart some comfort by giving the urakata's hair a reassuring ruffle. "It'll, um, it'll only be for a little bit, okay? Just...he's probably lonely..." Ah, Kosuke really was a softie. He couldn't just leave something alone without at least trying to say hi. Of course there was the whole strangeness of the surrounding area, and the lingering unpleasantness thanks to the auction house...but he did his best to tough it out.
It seemed the creature in the cage was a cat of some sort, and Kosuke offered a timid smile. "Um, h-hello...How're you...?" He was just the sort of person to try to strike up a 'normal' conversation with something in a cage...All the while attempting to ignore the fact that there was a 'discounted' sign hung above the critter's prison. Poor thing.

Silvio wanted to treat his master this way, to him he thought his master deserved it for being so nice to him. Even if others might not think the same. Other Urakata thought masters were only bad. Or had negative intentions. If he was being honest he did not think his master was the same. Kosuke had taken him, treated him. Given him toys, clothes and a warm place to sleep when he didn't have to. So this couldn't be so bad. At least that was how he saw that anyway. It wasn't bad to him, and it probably never would be. The wolf didn't entirely know how to help people. Or maybe he'd rather not help people. Silvio wasn't that helpful. The only reason he cared about Kosuke was because he had been helped by him, but that was basically it.
If anything he'd rather just ignore this. Perhaps he needed to focus on other things, like whatever that animal wanted. Seriously. Just what the heck did he want? It annoyed him a lot to think someone was trying to distract his master. Someone that might end up hurting him but instead he just glanced at Kosuke then gave a small nod. "It'll be really yummy..." He said though he was not so certain on this. It was all just way too weird for him. Going to the auction house, even just the front of it? Why would someone want to go back here. Urakata or not it couldn't be a comfortable place. Or at least he didn't think it actually was. But perhaps he was not in a good way here.
Mostly because this place scared him a lot. That smile had made him comfortable for a moment. But no he still didn't want to deal with this. Or get closer to this damn place. It only made him feel sick randomly. "Okay fine...Ko-Kun. Only because of you. But let's leave this place fast...it makes me feel weird." After all he was the Urakata here. So he had once been in this place, even if he didn't entirely remember it. Perhaps it was for the best that he didn't remember these things anyway right? Was he just lonely? Who knew. Those creatures could attack whenever they wanted to.
Even behind a cage. So Silvio wasn't about to take any chances, instead he just stuck close to his master. Waiting for the time he needed to actually strike. Which so far it hadn't happened. But who could be certain really. Silvio didn't talk to them, he just reached over and tugged at the sign. Like he wanted to chew on it. Those signs were so annoying, and to be honest he'd rather not deal with it. Why the heck did they have to come here? template by kaito of aizrp |

How are you? How are you?! This human had the gall to ask an Urutaka in a cage, being sold for auction how he was. Normally, the conversation would have end right there. Michael would have gotten angry, and then either said something mean or hissed. Today was different, Michael was just too tired from the lack of nutritional food to actually be defensive. His eyes showed this tiredness as he just tried to think of a proper way to answer that weapon.
“I’m locked in a cage, for everyone to leer at. I am treated like dirt, and will never again get a chance to enjoy freedom. Other than that. I am Fine.” Michael deadpanned as he stared at them. Maybe the best defense to his new life was simple indifference. Never would he comply with his orders, but never would he fight this life. Maybe in that sense he was defeated, but maybe in another it would set up a way for other Urutaka to be free.
Maybe now if Michael took a stance to passively resist the human, he'd be able to change something. Maybe the horrible conditions that he was now suffering through would be come better. Maybe, if he lived this type of life Urutaka would at some point would become free. Well, one could only hope.
“What’s your name? They… They call me Michael.” He asked as he stared at them. He was more talking to the Urutaka that was currently cowering next to his master. There was no reason to be mean to another Urutaka at this point. He did nothing wrong to him at this point, and there was no reason for him to be scared. Michael was defenseless now, if anything he should be the one that was scared. |

| Okay, in hindsight, that was a pretty stupid question. But the programmer just couldn't help himself. It was just the easiest way for him to start a conversation, even if the situation was somewhat abnormal. Blinking once at the caged creature, he frowned a bit and let out a low huff. Raising his free hand to rub at the back of his neck, his expression turned sheepish. "Um...S-sorry..." And he took a step back just so, in case the other needed some room. Which he realized was a bit ridiculous seeing as the urakata was in a cage, but well...He was nervous, and it wasn't like nervousness was particularly logical, right? His hand lingered against the back of his head as he stood there, his other hand clutching at his scarf. Trying to think and figure out what to do. Perhaps it was a bad idea to bother the poor cat.
It seemed though that the feline's attention had fixated on his canine companion. That confused him further but he supposed it made some sense, they were both urakata, so...Shifting his weight from one foot to the other, he glanced between the lion and Silvio a few times. "Um..." He mumbled, not really because he had anything to say, but rather as a way to break the silence. He lowered his other hand and let it settle against his scarf as well.

Silvio felt confused, just what the heck was this guys problem. Yes he was in a cage, but that didn't matter. Well okay maybe it did a little bit. But the Urakata didn't know what to make of that. Why would they keep him out here? It wouldn't get him sold if it just made him cranky. He wanted to hiss back, but it probably woudln't end up doing much. Silvio would rather not make an enemy out of these people. He escaped the market barely. He'd rather not go back, and be forced into a cage again. Kosuke was taking better care of him anyway. More then the people here ever did. He just kept glancing between the cage and Kosuke. Wondering if this was a good thing for him at all right now. Either way he needed to figure things out.
The best way he knew how to. Which wasn't exactly working by now. Maybe he was getting in over his head seriously. But he couldn't leave his master here so he moved out from behind him a bit. Took a stance in front of his master as if he was protecting him. Really this Urakata in the cage scared him sorta, but it was also something he was curious about. Just what was going through this guy's head. Why did he have to react that way? Kosuke wasn't all that sure how to talk to people so this didn't help at all. And he wanted to make that known but Silvio kept his mouth shut on that one.
The boy blinked confused by this. It just didn't make sense to him. Why was some stranger talking to him? Stranger in a cage even. Silvio had no idea what to make of that. He looked up at his master, holding his toy in one hand as he still kept his distance. He did not want to get that close to this cage. Knowing it might not help him if he actually did do that anyway right? Perhaps now things needed to be handled differently instead. Who knew. At this point Silvio still felt majorly uncertain with this guy.
"Silve..." He said as he just peeked at the cage, keeping his distance mostly. He handed his toy back to Kosuke and looked closer at the cage. Poking his fingers in wasn't in his character so Silvio just tugged at that sign. Annoyed with it to no end. Urakata were people too even if they sometimes looked like animals. He didn't care much about that and Kosuke seemed to like him no matter what the heck he was. template by kaito of aizrp |

Michael was shocked for a moment. Did, Did this human just apologize to him for the way he was being treated and what was happening to him? When he was a child, he was taught that the humans like doing these things to Urutaka. His red eyes shifted off of the other Urutaka, and tried to understand this human. He seemed, kind. Carefully, he shifted all the way into the front of the cage to try his best to get a better look at them.
From this look, Michael could see two things, one the Urutaka depended on the human for protection, and seemed to like the human. The second was that both of them seemed scared and nervous to be here. His tail swished from side to side as he tried to understand them. His head was still cocked to the side as he tried to understand them.
“It’s nice to meet you Silve… I’m Michael Hayse.” He said lowly taking that as his name gently looking back to him. He bit his lip. Trying to find words right now was surprisingly hard. At this moment, he did feel like a pet, a creature, something that needed to be taken care of. On top of that, Michael felt a bit jealous of Silve. He seemed to like his Master, and his master seemed like a good one. Biting his lip a bit more Michael again spoke.
“Thanks for coming by, you two are the first ones to show up at my cage today.” Michael mumbled lowly going to look down a bit embarrassed to be thanking them for a human for a bit of interaction. But, after the weeks and weeks of basically no interaction beside being checked out as a slave, Michael enjoyed a bit of friendly interaction. |

| Truthfully Kosuke wasn't quite sure what to do with this situation. The other seemed tired and disgruntled with his situation, understandably so, but since he was primarily addressing Silvio, the programmer found himself at a loss. He had already upset the feline by his foolish attempt at small talk earlier, so for the time being he simply stood there...His gaze drifting back and forth between the two urakatas. Awkward tension seemed to lurk in the air, and for a couple beats, he turned his attention elsewhere. Much better to stare at the concrete beneath his feet than at someone else, right? Tapping his fingers against the hem of his scarf, he hummed quietly as he tried to sort his thoughts. He wasn't even truly conscious of the noise, it was just a habit of his when he got too deep into musing.
After a little while, he glanced back up, shifting his grip on his scarf. "Um...My name's Kosuke..." This he interjected with some nervousness, offering a tiny, sheepish smile. It was just weird to not offer at least that much when introductions were happening. "Should we, um...Should we...let you rest...or...something?" Ah, he really was failing rather epically at this conversation. But since he had annoyed the cat at first, he figured maybe it would be best to back off completely. Yet soon Michael was thanking them for visiting. So now he was just all sorts of perplexed. "Um..." He glanced over to Silvio, wondering what the wolf was thinking about the whole scenario.

Silvio wanted to pull Kosuke back, get him close again. But he also didn't like the idea of injuring his master. Knowing that some slaves could be majorly violent if they wanted to. He'd rather just not get them involved, or accidently hurt them. Perhaps just having a conversation with this man wasn't about to hurt either. He didn't know what to do on this one, or how to handle it. Talking to people was not his comfort zone, it was far from it even. Right now he couldn't be sure on what was happening here. Kosuke was his friend, his protector. In a way. And he had to keep him safe as well. Though right now it probably didn't matter that much. Sighing lightly he looked at the cage, then back towards Kosuke. Would they have to go soon? Who knew. Right now this wasn't something he was entirely certain of either.
He did not like this place, he wanted to go away from it. This whole Urakata being in a cage thing wasn't his comfort zone. So he'd rather just end up running away. If it'd help at all really, perhaps he needed to deal with that. Or try to focus on something else instead. With a shrug of the shoulders he just peeked at the cage. Trying to get a better look at this cat like Urakata that was basically stuck here. If he tried to hurt them then the people here would not be nice to him. Past experiences already spoke of those things. In his mind he knew exactly where this would end up going. "Ko-kun..." He looked up at him a bit unsure. If his master said no then he'd back away. But so far they only seemed to be looking at each other right now.
As if they were both trying to figure out what was going on here anyway. He didn't understand even more why this person wanted to talk to him. Seriously just why. He basically was owned by a man, someone that took care of him. So this didn't make sense. Most people should be angry with him for going along with this. But this was also all he had by now, and he'd rather not end up thinking too much on these ones either. Not knowing exactly where it might get him. "okay...nice to meet you I guess..Why do they leave you out here? It's not safe out here." Not that Silvio cared, entirely. No he was just talking, and asking things. That probably meant basically nothing anyway.
Kosuke had a point but he didn't comment on this one, he just let it go. See what would happen in time, and other things along those lines anyway. template by kaito of aizrp |

“It’s… It’s nice to meet both of you.” He told both of them; his head was tilted to the left. He was interested. Something about the way the pair acted made him feel like he wanted to talk to them, or at least be personable. Carefully, his red eyes would take both of them in. Honestly, it was a great feeling to have someone interested in him, and more importantly, maybe this marked a moment where he could be sold. Wait, when did he want to be sold?
A wave of nervousness passed through his body as he thought about the question that rushed through his head, when did he want to be sold? Maybe, just maybe when the time came and he was sold, he could escape from his master. Yeah, that was the answer. He had just realized a chance when he could escape. He would smile a bit and then hear a question from the wolf Urutaka.
“They… They want me sold so by putting me out here, maybe someone would get a chance to see me.” Michael told Silvio with gentle sigh. Michael might have been illiterate, but he wasn't stupid. He knew this was the reason why he was out in the light, in front of everyone. He knew that was the reason.
“No. No No. You don’t have to go… I mean, if you don’t want too.” Michael said watching the pair. For once, he had someone to talk to, and he didn't want to let them go so quickly. |
