What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Something was just off in Feral's world. He hadn't a clue what it might of been but since he had been purchased by a doctor. Well, everything started to go off kilter. The good doctor had been thrilled to come across the bear and yet seemed all too disappointed in the urakata at the same time. Feral didn't know the man who looked into his little cage. Nor did he respond to the name Johnathan that the man had insisted on calling him. Who was Johnathan? Apparently, it must of been someone that looked just like Feral. When the urakata corrected him on his proper name, the man looked dumbfounded. Wasn't Feral his name? He remembered being called Feral or was there another meaning attached to that name? Johnathan. It was a name that just didn't roll off the tongue very well for Feral. It wasn't that he disliked the name he just couldn't grasp it even though he mentally fished for it in the dark. As hard as he flailed about to find the meaning to the name that rang a very, very small bell in his head, nothing happened. It only lead to his personal frustration. Still, beyond the mixed feelings he was purchased and brought to his new home. Even as he walked through the doors the doctor still called him by a name that wasn't his at all. Feral kept his tongue in check and merely followed the younger man as he was shown around the house. It turned out, he didn't need the man to show him about as Feral seemed to know where he was going without even realizing it. He had never been in this home and yet he found his way into the kitchen after he was told they were going their next. It was an odd, creepy and very unsettling feeling that nestled into the pit of his stomach. How did he know which hallway was what? Even now in the late hours in the night, Feral was moving through the home. His Master had retired and Feral was left to his own devices even though he was supposed to be sleeping in his own area. Too bad he was never big on orders. The bear moved down each hallway at his own pace, looking around each corner. He didn't feel lost at all when he really should of. In fact, this whole damn situation was giving him a headache from the nine corners of hell. The more he thought about this place and his Master August, it just caused his head to pound. At some point, the bear found his way into a room he believed to be a study. It had books lined everywhere and a single desk in the corner. On the shelves where photos and odd little trinkets here and there. Feral paid no mind to them as he combed through the room. Maybe, it would be best if he slipped out through a window. He could make a run for it. That would get rid of his headaches. But then he would have to deal with that asshole, Ajax, again and Feral wasn't so sure he was fully up to that kind of fight again. Sighing, he turned his attention away from the large window and moved to the pictures. Only one image stood out to him and it was a young child with dark hair and was not wearing an eye patch. Confused, he stared at the picture but nothing happened. Why did he have that nasty feeling going on in his gut again. He could feel the frustration building back up. Flopping into desk chair, he stat there with the picture in front of him. Just staring at it and nothing more. Who was the kid? "God, this makes my head hurt." He muttered to no one with a quick flip of the wrist, he knocked he image down on the desk. Leaning back in the chair, Feral rubbed his temples to try and relieve the pressure building there. |
He had just purchased his slave again, but the response he got. It made him confused. It was almost like he forgot. Didn't John promise he'd never do that? Somehow. They talked about things as children, and were really awkward. Though it wasn't as if he bothered to actually complain. August had his child hood friend back, even if he didn't remember him. So that was a start. Lately he'd been letting the boy get situated here. Just trying to figure out where to go with this. It was hard enough for the doctor to focus on work. He stitched up a few people, had a few other emergencies then fell asleep when he got home. Without really talking to Feral. He had just been that exhausted. Hopefully that male wouldn't try to flee or something. He didn't know what to do if that happened. August hadn't agreed when his father sold the boy anyway. The boy had shown it how pissed off he was after that boy was gone. It sucked for him a lot more then he'd like to admit. With a sigh August sat up in his bed. And tried to just stop thinking about things. Not that it worked very well. Nope. Not at all. So many other things that were darker, scarier were going through his head. He just pushed his way out of the bed, slipping on his slippers and pushing his bangs out of his eyes. Why did this have to happen? If his father had just kept that boy in the other room. None of this would happen. Too late to really dwell on that yet August still was. For whatever reason. "Jo-Feral..." he tried to get used to saying the other name he was given. That name he didn't entirely like. Why the heck would he like it anyway? Things happened in ways he didn't enjoy. Those people said he was messed up. That made August mad. Just who the heck had screwed him up so badly that he was this way. Not like he'd ever find out. Learning about the past masters was never business of the new ones. Depending on what they were involved in. Where had Feral gone? He was thinking of making something for the boy. After all he didn't know if his slave had eaten yet. Calling him Feral or a slave. Just none of that was natural to him. It bugged him a lot more then he thought. He only walked down towards his study figuring he'd get some more files done. He needed to do them anyway right? By this point he'd just rather not think too much of it. As if that would help him to begin with right. He peeked around the corner and saw Feral. Just sighing he moved into the room and placed a mug of warm tea down. The slave could have it if he wanted it. This boy had no reason to prevent those things. "What is bugging you? Maybe you should go sleep, it'll go away then I bet. If you want." He looked at the picture and just flipped it back up pushing it to the corner of his desk. It didn't seem he cared that his slave was in this room. There wasn't anything private in here. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The young man stared up at the ceiling. He wondered if anything would eventually make sense to his messed up brain. At this rate though, he doubted it. Just trying to figure out meanings behind stupid names, words, and pictures just gave him the most awful headache. The more he thought about it the worst it would get. It was like he had some kind of mental wall blocking out all the information he needed. From his birthday to anything before the car wreck was a mystery to the man. Heck, he didn't even know how old he actually could be. It was so frustrating when you didn't know a damn thing about yourself when apparently someone else knew who you where. Lowering his head in his hands, he closed his eyes. Well, it was time to clear his messed up mind and maybe go to bed. Not like it would help anything though. Feral did not move from his current seat. He had not hurt the door open but a scent invaded his nose. It was strong, pleasant and once again memorable even though he did not know why it was such a trigger for him. The smell put him on edge as his Master stepped into the picture. Gently, the man placed a mug of warm tea before him. Feral looked up at it but did not reach for it immediately. He was hesitant, then after a moment he reached out and brought it close to him. He merely wrapped his hands around the warm ceramic and looked up. It seemed he wasn't in trouble for moving about in the late hours but the man named August wanted to know what was bugging him. Feral wasn't really the type to talk about his problems. He kept most of his issues to himself but he felt like if maybe he voiced a few things, it would help him a little bit. "I don't know." He muttered softly, watching the picture being set to an up right position once again. "But sleep won't help. It never does." He sat there silently again for a long moment. Calloused fingers drummed on the mug as a type of distraction that didn't last long. His right fingers stretched out and scratched at his knuckles on the other hand. "Whose the kid? A relative of yours, Master?" No, that didn't sound very right to Feral even as he asked the question. Nor did it really suit the bear to call the younger male master. |

August only wanted him take the cup and smiled when he did. Really right now the younger male wasn't so sure what to do. Not like he knew where to go with this. Part of him felt a bit confused. Like it was just weird with how Feral didn't know a thing. He couldn't keep calling him that old name, it wouldn't help. It might only succeed in making things worse. Which he didn't entirely want either by this point. Looking at the picture he just sighed, and then settled down in another chair. Pulling the chair closer to the desk as he picked up that photo. Why did he have to look at this? It was a bit confusing to him. But as if he was going to complain about those things anyway. Why would he? It just didn't make sense to him, one way or another August wanted him to get his memories back already. But like wishing for it would actually happen. That'd just be hoping way too much and long ago he had learned not to think that way. It confused him a tad. But better to just let those things go before it got to him all over again. August smiled again then leaned back in the chair letting the picture rest against his chest. How could he handle this? It just didn't entirely make sense to him either. Feral had to remember, it had to be in there somewhere. How could one person ruin years of memories for that slave. It just was so frustrating, and he'd love to wrap his hands around that man's neck. Make him suffer for hurting Feral, or John as August still wanted to call him. "You never really know. It's at least something you should try." He smiled, and just reached over to ruffle his hair. As usual he was being nice to slaves. It wasn't like he was really rude to people, he never knew how to be rude. August only got pissed off when people threatened others close to him anyway. Like this slave sitting in his desk chair. But it didn't entirely matter to him so he'd rather just shake this off as quickly as he could. Who was that kid? So he really didn't remember. Maybe it was best to just keep it that way. "Oh...he's my son. looks a lot like me when I was that age." He laughed, and just tried to keep from breaking down. Really here he went lying. But if he said it was him. Then how would he be able to explain that. August liked to pretend most of his pictures had been destroyed anyway. So why would he get into this thing when he didn't really need to. He just closed his eyes then sighed a little bit. As if he didn't know what he was doing right now. Part of him had a feeling he might just be messing up with this. Which probably wasn't so surprising to other people anyway. "So...why did your last master leave you there?" He had to wonder. It wasn't as if August had been entirely informed on that situation. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The sandy blond bear slowly scratched at his knuckle all the while staring at his new master. Feral might look like a lot of dumb bricks but he was far from it. Sure, he couldn't read, write, or spell his own name but he could tell when someone wasn't being up front with him. It came with the territory of being a cage fighter. He had to judge everything on body language and facial expressions. To win a fight he had to know which way an opponent might dodge, how he might strike and most of all, if he was playing fair. Lifting the mug to his lips, he took a slow sip from it ceramic cup. He never broke eye contact with the one eyed man. Placing the cup down, he poked at it lightly. What was he supposed to say to the man? He felt like he was being lied too but there was no way he could ever prove it. If his Master really did have a child then it was no business of his at all. He did not see a wedding ring nor any toys thus far in the house that would fit a child of that age. Perhaps, he was divorced and the child lived else where. Still, there would be a room for the boy when he came to visit---if he could visit. Feral decided to play along just to be on the safe side. Calling out a man he barely knew would not be in his best interest. "Does he? Perhaps, I have seen the lad somewhere before..." The child did look a bit familiar and he could not place a name to the face to save his life. It just made his hit hurt and his temper raise. Luckily, he was able to keep that bit of him in check for the time being. Breaking eye contact, Feral turned his vision down towards the glass. He suddenly felt uneasy. His stomach flipped flopped about and mouth felt dry. Lifting the cup again, he took another drink, this time longer. Sitting it down for a second time he answered the other. "Leaving me at the Auction House or bleeding in the woods?" The bear paused and took a glance up and leaned back in his chair. He shrugged his broad shoulders while he contuined to still scratch at his knuckles. It was really a horrible habit of his as he often caused his knuckles to bleed from heavy scratching. "On both cases, I don't know. All I do know is that I was alone with a car smashed into a tree not far from me. I wondered into town. Entered a what I assumed was a hospital. Scuffled with a Shikansen. Then sent to the Auction and now," he clapped his hands lightly and returned to his nervous habit. "I'm here. With you. Having this conversation." Feral sighed heavily while tilting his head to the side. "And feeling confused as ever..."
This was just way too awkward for him, August wanted to embrace his slave again. This person had been his child hood friend. Which made this even harder to accept really. How could he handle it? Maybe he just wasn't supposed to ever learn how to manage that. He was a bit of a brat after all. With his father giving John away he couldn't handle things. He just started to bottle up his emotions. Learn to handle things all on his own instead of letting people in. Perhaps that wasn't good for him. But who knew. The younger man didn't get why he felt as if Feral was trying to read him. This just didn't make sense. As if it ever would though, this was just awkward all over the place wasn't it. August felt bad not telling him the truth.But that would be too much for both of them. August only smiled a bit and just reached up to play with his eye patch. Trying to ignore those eyes looking at him. Really he knew by now the slave probably wanted to get a good read on him. Too bad for him he'd never get one. He only shook his head and sighed a bit. "I doubt it...but maybe...he didn't stay with us for very long." August always kept that happy smiling face. It was probably why no one knew anything might be wrong with him. He didn't like to show when he was weak, or had negative emotions. As always he viewed them as bad, and it brought people around him down. So instead he just smiled all the time. For as long as he could actually manage that. Till someone caught him off guard. Not that it happened often. So that was what happened Knowing that man he probably just left Feral out there to die. Just thinking that's probably be the best thing for him. Which really as far as he was concerned he didn't like that. And he'd never end up liking that. The boy sighed again and just shook his head, looking out the window now. At least he didn't have to keep eye contact anymore. For some reason that was just way too awkward for the master. "Really so that's why. They told me some details, but not everything. Well you'll remember soon enough? Right?" Not like he knew what he was going to do. Perhaps August was just thinking way too much on this one. He kept feeling slightly guilty. Like he should have tried harder or this was his fault. But then he knew if he told John that. He'd be like it's not your fault. Or something. Well the old John might have been. This one didn't remember. And he'd probably never remember. There he went thinking about the negative again. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Awkward silence happened between them and Feral did not like it one bit. Sure, he loved to be quite himself but not when it was just two people in one lonely room in the middle of the night. It was unsettling to say the very least. It let the mind wonder down roads it shouldn't and for some reason that concerned the young bear. He shifted lightly in his chair, leaning forward to take back the picture from his master. It was simple enough and once he had it he leaned back in the chair again. He couldn't help but stare at the boy in the picture. He felt like he knew him but at the same time he didn't. Absently, he contuined on. "The doctor there said something was wrong with my head. I couldn't give anyone information they needed. I was marked under just another find with just the name, Feral." He paused for a moment in thought. "It was the only thing that came to mind when I woke up." he shrugged his shoulders. He had just assumed it was his name and that was what went on his paperwork. Feral Stream. "Guess they call it Amensia or something." Feral turned the picture in his head at different angle's slowly a bit by bit. Something wasn't fitting together in his head and it bothered him. It made him feel sick to his stomach and the idea of purging came to him more then once but he pushed back the sensation. "Doc said I would in time. Some things I would remember sooner then others. Like my name, Feral Stream and that I can fight pretty well. I guess I was a cage fighter, its the only thing that makes sense to what I can do without thinking." The bear babbled on, just letting things flow out. It seemed natural to just talk casually like this to his new Master even though he had only met him this morning. He just had the air of taking things in stride and understanding in some ways. Still, it didn't answer a lot of questions that he did have. He lowered the picture back on the desk and looked back at August. "Why did you call me Johnathan when you saw me? Did you know me?" he paused for a moment and then asked carefully with a slightly narrowed gaze. "You're not the one that left me in the woods, are you?" No. As soon as he asked that question he could tell just by reaction alone that August was not the man that had left him broken and bleeding in the woods. Still, something just didn't feel right between them and it bothered him a lot. A lot more then it should. It wasn't like he could of said he seen the man before because he hadn't. But that eye, something about it. It just made him feel too much at easy, too laid back, and far too curious. Clearing his throat he added in, "So, what does my Master want me to do from here on end?" |

The silence between them was just awkward enough, and he didn't know what to do it either. Sighing lightly he'd just rather think about something else. Like the things that might really matter. So far August was confused. Part of him was feeling like this had just gone a different way. The way he didn't wish to go. Feral wasn't the same person he knew anymore, and just the thought depressed him anyway. This whole situation had just gone ten times awkward. Not like he knew exactly what to do. Perhaps he needed to say something without going over the edge. Or the wrong way. Who knew. By this point he might just be messing something up instead. He just wanted his friend back. That person he used to play games with all the time. When they were children, and before his father decided to try and send him away. More so sent him away. Because even then the boy couldn't do much about it. When he found out his slave was gone, he didn't know what to do. It was like losing his best friend. Which basically was what happened. He lost his friends before, but with that kid it bugged him a whole lot more. Not that he spoke of that. Why the heck would he? People never understood his thoughts anyway. They would just tell him, he's only a slave. There's no reason to care about slaves or any of those damn people. His father didn't hate slaves, he just wanted to keep the violent ones away. When really he was only violent because he was trying to protect August right. All he did was stay quiet as he let the other guy talk. Let Feral talk, he needed to get a few things out anyway. So he'd probably not hold things against him. Simple. August had never been the one to hold things against people anyway. Why would he? That wasn't exactly something he bothered with, it was just stupid to do. "Something wrong with your head...hm. I guess that could be it. But at least they'll find a way to help you. Feral..you think you'll get your memory back soon?" Right now he just wanted to know. Because just maybe it'd give him some false hope. Some false dream that his slave would remember. They could be friends again. Which was all he wanted. Well one of the things he wanted anyway. Feral wasn't his name though so why didn't they tell him that. No doubt someone had to know what his real name was. Who he really was. And who really owned him. The person sitting right here, who had finally managed to find him and purchase the boy again. "That can't be the only thing. They should have never made you do that." August sighed, he started to feel more annoyed as he just tugged at his eye patch. He wanted to smack those people, and maybe Feral. He shouldn't have done that. Yet it wasn't entirely his fault either. August only blinked and looked back at him. What did he mean? Oh yea when he said that, it probably didn't mean very much. "I-I..you looked like someone I knew. But I guess...that was just me getting my hopes up for nothing. Ah well. I wouldn't leave anyone in the woods. Urakata aren't meant to just be slaves." He stood up from the desk pushing that picture down into his drawer and locking it. As if he didn't want to see the picture. Really he just couldn't look at it right now. Placing the key back around his neck August looked towards the door. Maybe he should go back to bed. "Right now all I want you to do is take care of yourself. These next few weeks are you getting comfortable here." August wouldn't push him, instead he'd rather just move on with this sort of thing. He still felt a bit uncertain about his slave, or well his old friend. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The bear sat in the chair, toying with his mug, scratching his knuckles and ultimately picking at the arm of the chair. This whole conversation wasn’t settling well with him. Something was amiss but he just couldn’t place it. The more he stared at the one eyed master, the more he realized very important pieces where missing from the box here. He seemed too concerned about Feral’s mental situation and much too hopeful that his memory would return to him soon. If he wasn’t the master that left him for dead then who was this person? Why did he seem like the worst liar on the face of the planet too? Feral frowned at his new owner and looked back down at his mug. ”They said it would come back too me. My memories aren’t gone forever, just, misplaced.” Yes, misplaced somewhere in the back corners of his mind behind the wall that he couldn’t break through. Images would leak in from time to time but not enough to make sense to him. But it was just enough to irritated him like no other. He grew silent for a good moment before addressing one of his own concerns. ”What will you do though once I have them back?” Would he be returned to his old master or would he be kept? What did it matter to the other anyways. Most individuals would be thrilled to have a slave that they could mold into their own creation. Something that had no memories other then fragments of a life they once knew. The possibilities would be endless but this person seemed to be banking on the pure hope that Feral would return to normal once again. The bear sighed softly, ”I think I enjoyed fighting or at least I get the sense of it. Maybe not all the time but there is a thrill I can’t shake. I guess it’s a drive of some sort.” A kind of trigger that made he bear feel alive and useful. ”Beyond that, I have no skills. I can not read, write, or spell a single word.” The bear shrugged his shoulders one again and grew silent. Idly, his ring finger traced the rim of his mug as a way of a distraction. He listened to the rest of what August had to tell him but still, he couldn’t shake that feeling of something not being right. It was staring him right in the face and he couldn’t see it. Looking straight at August he decided he was not happy with what his master was telling him and would now voice it. ”Call me crazy but I think you are lying to me. Even when you got close to me you insisted on my name being something else. No one gets mistaken for another that deeply unless they have a twin. I don’t have one.” August was keeping something from him but he wasn’t going to fight it. There was no reason too as eventually light would be shaded upon the subject at some point. ”It doesn’t matter though.” He paused. ”But I will do what you say for the time being.” The bear kept a firm stare at the other. Almost hoping that the sharp gaze he had even as a child would carry over into maybe forcing the young man to spill some beans. ” Only, because you ask so nicely of me.” |
August wanted to reveal his feelings, or say something. But no he couldn't end up doing that right now. It might only get him into trouble. Which the small boy would rather avoid. After all he was shorter, younger, and everything compared to Feral. Not that it mattered. That boy barely knew him anymore. Those memories were gone all because some idiot had to be stupid and get him hurt. He wanted to kill that man, rip them open and hope they cried out. Seriously either way seeing that person die would make him laugh. Not that he entirely knew about those people. Who they were. Or anything else. Perhaps this wasn't going to be that good for him. August shouldn't have bought John. But he also wanted to bring him back, after his father got rid of him. Telling the boy right after he already sold him was not something he liked. He wanted to smack his father for that as well. Not that it'd fix anything either. He'd rather just not end up dealing with that. John, or well Feral now didn't have a fucking clue about him. And for the moment he probably never would. It seriously ticked him off to know that he had been forgotten. But it wasn't the slave's fault so he kept his small temper under control. If anything he was mad because someone had hurt Feral. August did not enjoy feeling useless after all, it just wasn't good for him anyway. Never had been. Really Feral was right, this boy couldn't lie to save his life. He'd never been good at that. He just felt too bad about lying to people that it made him suck at it. But he'd rather just pretend that wasn't happening right now. People didn't need to know what was going through his mind at this point either. Much less Feral. So instead he tried to focus on things, hoping he could come back. John was missed, even if he thought he wasn't. After all it wasn't the young boys idea to sell him. Not by any means. He had other plans for him that were never in that area. He wanted to take him with when he had left the home. But no it didn't happen. Mostly from not being able to find the boy. "Do you really want to go back to your old master? Somehow I don't see that being a good idea." That was all he said, he didn't say what he might do. After all who knew what might return first. Or anything. And he couldn't give away what his connection to this slave was. His father would get angry enough with him as it was at this point anyway. "Hm you can't...? well then you just need to learn. Fighting can't be all you know how to do." That was all he said, though August didn't want to change his slave either. Why would he? Perhaps it just didn't matter. After all he had his own things going on. Was he lying? Well of course. He didn't know what to say to him. Trying to push the name John on Feral wouldn't fix anything. Who knew those memories might never end up coming back. "I-I guess..but now might not be the best time for that. don't you think?" He was trying to avoid the subject. August didn't know how to tell Feral about his feelings, or his thoughts on that matter. The whole selling Feral thing wasn't his wish. Or anything. No he had tried his hardest to talk his father out of it. "Maybe one day I'll tell you why I called you John. For now just stay with me..." That was all he asked, as he just smiled over at Feral. Without realizing it he copied that exact same smile the boy in the picture had. He wasn't very good at covering up his secrets it seemed. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Feral was at a lose of words. He didn’t know what to say as he had the odd feeling that his words could weigh heavily on a scale. That scale would tell him if he was making a negative response or positive. With how he currently was, it was difficult to figure out what to say. His master looked a bit lost and upset over the whole matter of purchasing Feral. Was he regretting his purchase? Did he want to take Feral back to the Auction house? He hoped not, he didn’t want to be back in that blasted cage again. It was cramped, smelly, and awfully boring. Still, what should he tell the man that looked so hopeful but so down cast like someone just kicked his favorite puppy. Feral leaned on the desk and dropped his head into his hands. ”No, I don’t want to go back to my old master, whoever that would have been. I don’t think I liked it much. No, I’m pretty sure I didn’t like the person either.” His mind started to wonder down that path of trying to remember details. Who did own him? What did they have him do and did he really dislike them? He had the feeling he hated them and could rip them apart if only it was legal. But all that came to him was the same pain he felt when looking at that little boys picture. Honestly, it pissed him off to no end. Feral changed the subject to save himself some pain. ”Then tell me, what was I good at if it didn’t include my fist?” He glanced up at August with some false hope that the man might slip up. He was being lied to so much and it bugged him. But he didn’t want to call the man out. He barely knew him and did not know his habits. He didn’t feel like angering him either. But maybe with some word play he could find some answers. Not the best time for it. Feral sighed. Of course, he would think that way wouldn’t he? Not the best time. Then what would be the best time? Feral no longer pushed the subject. But the smile on the mans face was the same as the boy in the picture. The bear might no be a rocket scientist but the boy in the picture was actually his grown up man, wasn’t it? It had to be but why couldn’t he just out right tell him? Was he afraid that his new slaves head might explode? ”John…” Feral said the word carefully as he played with it. ”August.” Nothing but a terrible headache and a childs giggle went through his head. He groaned lightly and leaned back into his chair. He sat there silently for a moment and went back to his mug once again. ”Don’t know why you can’t just tell me but I suppose fishing for answers would be unkind of me, wouldn’t? I’m sorry.” |

How had it come to this? If only someone hadn't done anything stupid, he'd rather not end up letting Feral go. But if things happened, how was he supposed to handle it? He didn't know who that other master was. It could have been his father, it could have been anyone. But not this boy. He didn't do those things to people. Not that it stopped August from worrying anyway. Sighing lightly he just tried to calm down, and keep that smile. Better not to let his feelings break down into many pieces. That'd only make things ten times worse for basically all of them. He didn't want to lose his slave, he didn't want to lose anyone. It would only end up hurting him more then anyone. Sighing lightly he'd rather relax but no it wasn't going to end up working. One way or another both of these people had things to talk about. Not that he wanted to talk about them now. There just wasn't a proper time for this. As much as he hated the idea he knew it was basically true. In some form or another August needed to be open about things. If he wasn't it'd only get him into trouble, or a rock and a hard place sort of situation. Glancing around the room his fingers tugged at the eye patch. He wanted to remove this but no he didn't want to show the damage done to his eye. It probably wasn't as bad as he actually thought it might be. However August wasn't that certain. Half the time he avoided looking at it anyway. "Good. Then maybe when you get the memories back, you'll know what you really want. Not that I'm against anything." The boy just smiled, and glanced at him. Again there it was that relaxed August even if on the inside he was breaking. It couldn't be that bad for him could it? Perhaps it might be but either way he just didn't know. The part of him that felt confused on this wasn't handling it all that well either. He sighed a bit and tried to figure out what was going on here. How could he deal with this? Part of him didn't even know. August just tried to think of what to say. "..well. You were always fun to be around. I mean you had a lot of strength but you didn't use it for fighting. Are you really sure you can't read? I mean...you could before." He had let something slip. Just a little something. It didn't mean much though. He probably just needed to learn again. After all when one lost skills they just needed to learn again. But he didn't know how to say this. Had he already messed up a little bit. August only shook his head and just reached over to ruffle the older male's hair. "You worry too much. It'll come to you, and maybe I'll tell you if I need to. Wouldn't want to hurt you by accident." That was all he said as he tried to ignore this. August reached up pulling the eye patch off and then he turned away to stand near the window. The weather was making the scars around his eye start to bug him. Seriously having a blind spot like this was annoying. How would Feral react to anything he said? Still August wasn't entirely aware of what he had said. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Feral couldn’t help but feel like a misplaced puppy. Everything he did didn’t seem right. Something was off and he couldn’t figure it out. Even with his new master he couldn’t get anything in his brain straight. It was all very frustrating. In the end, he supposed there was nothing more he could do at the moment. He could fret about it all day and night and nothing would come from it. Nothing but a headache at least. But Auguest was right everything would come back to him at some point. Then, he would know what he wanted in life. All his problems would be solved at least for the time being. Feral let loose another sigh and nodded his head softly. ”I suppose there is no point in me hitting my head on things is there?” He spoke of knocking his head on certain items mostly because a head trauma took away his memories so why wouldn’t a new one bring them back? Sounded about right, wrong. It would probably do nothing but make him be in pain for a few days. The next bit that came out of August mouth cause the boy to pause and cock his head to the side. He could read? Since when? He never remembered being able to crack open a book and understand the words written there let alone the meaning of letters. But the biggest bit was the fact that August had just unknowingly admitted that he did know Feral prier to his head injury to make him go all funny. Feral didn’t press for answers. ”I used it to move oak tables, maybe?” He used it mostly for a joke but almost felt it to be true. Feral watched August stand and move to one of the many windows, Feral couldn’t help but follow. The bear pushed himself out of the chair and came to stand next to August, on his bad side. Curious, he turned to view the scare and the ruined eye. It honestly didn’t look too bad at all but could he see out of it? Mm, an interesting thought came to the bears mind. He reached up and waved a hand in his blind spot and once he was sure he wasn’t seen he reached up to touch the old scar. But his hand stopped half way and he lowered back to his side. He shouldn’t touch the man that jut bought him, he might not like that too much. Best no to press his luck. Still, the idea of doing something to lighten it all caused Feral to make a face at the eye before returning to his usual persona of being a serious bear with too many problems. |
He didn't know why he was even talking to him, he might have just had more luck avoiding all of this. Yet at the same time August didn't know what he was getting into. Either way he just needed to slowly make sense of this. Those feelings going through his mind as awkward as they were really. He couldn't figure out even what he might be really thinking either. Feral no longer remembered who he had been. Basically so of course things were far from being easy anyway. And he didn't like this. That feeling going through his mind was just a bit annoying. Perhaps he needed to shake them off, and stop trying to think way too much on this. It wouldn't end up doing him any good. Not in his own mind. Yet at the same time he had to wonder what Feral was thinking. 'What is he thinking?' August had to ask, but he kept it in his thoughts. Things would come back in time? But when? How long would it take? He didn't entirely know what to say about this. Or what he was even going to do. Letting it go would have be eaiser but no of course it wasn't going to happen. He already knew that much. Sighing lightly he just looked out the window, his eye was bugging him. Stinging him a little bit. Even if he didn't want to think about that one either. "Well of course that would only manage to make your issues worse probably. So let's just avoid that one." That was all he said as he just kept on trying to focus on other things. Wondering just what he was going to get into. Not that it'd end up doing him much good either at this point. August only shrugged. Really the boy need to remember before his chest started hurting again. Really to be honest he'd rather not deal with this. It'd probably only end up getting him into trouble. Much more then he needed to get into of course. "Hah Oak Tables. I don't think so on that one kid...you should get some sleep though. It's getting late." He didn't even seem to notice him coming closer. It didn't make sense to him. He thought he saw something but no it was probably just his eye messing up. That eye had a lot of tricking him, and it happened a lot anyway. Which he'd rather not end up thinking into these things anyway. If he could manage to avoid it then heck yes he would. August knew his vision in that eye was getting worse. It was starting to fail more, and he couldn't do much about that which upset him. A lot more then he actually liked right now. Trying to keep from shaking his head, he just glanced out the window. "What are you doing Feral? You seem curious about something." The boy said as he just looked around, then looked back at Feral. It might have been like he saw him out of the corner of his eye. But who knew, that eye was damaged after all. So it couldn't be that good or easy for him to actually see out of. What Doesn't Kill Me
Makes Me Feel Alive!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Feral stood beside the younger man. It seemed he didn't get caught for being a bit odd a moment ago. It was mostly a test to see if the eye truly didn't work. Upon finding that to be true gave him a bit of an advantage if he ever wanted to do something particuarlly sneaky. He ignored the tables comment but the rest caught his attention. With a bored look he shrugged his shoulders, "I haven't slept much lately but I'll be fine." If he did go to sleep now he was postive that he wouldn't wake up until five in the afternoon. He sometimes seemed to hybernate like the animal he was assoicated with by birth. Though, there was also the fact he might not sleep at all. He had found sleep diffcult sense he lost his memories. Sometimes he would have dreams that made no sense or nightmares that might speak too many truths. Sleep was not his friend. Silence filled the empty void between the two a moment longer. He didn't answer immedately as there were too many thoughts floating around in his damaged skull. He was curious about a lot of things ranging from why the young man was lying to him to his possible future and what it might hold for him. Would he ever remember his past and what was the best way to get back the memories that were stolen from due to a car wreck. Finally, would it be best if he didn't remember them? Could his past be very much like his nightmares? That ideal did not settle well with the bear. So, Feral decided to keep things simple. "Your eye, what happened to it?" He asked the question as if he asked where the bathroom might be located. It was simple and very much too the point and prehaps a little too bluntly at that. "And, are we the only ones in this home?" |
