It was a place of many things; escape, rest, finality, death, hope, new life. A whole lot of things happened here, as the girl let her steps guide her through the area, her red hair fluttering in the near absent light. Night was approach smartly, and rapidly, as the girl just wandered the grave filled area. Why was she here? She wasn't even sure, as her eyes were a bit blanker then they normally would be. The girl felt.. alone. Isolated. There was something particularly about this place; not the graveyard in it's uniqueness, but rather the feeling of a graveyard. Something was tinkering with something behind her eyes, her mind working through series of things. Possible and impossible? It all depended on the very ending of it all, as the girl kept moving.
Her hand trailed on top of a grave; feeling the rough stone, the onyxes and the marble, the pure stone mixes with cement when poor. But then something sticky; slightly cold but still relatively warm. The girl stopped and looked at her hand; she had unknowingly put her hand in blood. The girl stared at the red liquid on her hand, almost not really seeing it. What concerned her was more why was it here? Staring at the grave from the back, she noted nothing special about it. She began to move forward again, as her mind went back into the shell of her body. She went back to feeling, smearing blood on other graves; that is, until her hand encountered the warm but not warm sticky feeling.
This time, her mind jerked out a bit closer to the surface, as the dim fog in her mind started to realize something was wrong. The girl walked forward now, feeling her legs pick up a new pace; it wasn't out of hurry, or worry, but just it needed. There was a faint alarm in the back of her mind, her neck itching. Her steps hurried; the blood was never something good, as she didn't notice the hand snake out of the darkness. When it touched her, she blinked, whirling around; and yet nothing was there. Her breath was hurried now, as she felt something pinch inside of her stomach, making her feel sick.
The girl bolted, her feet hitting the ground, her long red hair flicking behind her like a bushy tail almost. Her body pushed itself, as she suddenly saw someone out in the open; where they real or another illusion, another thing her mind or whatever was controlling these things. She slowed, letting her breath slip, as she bobbed up to the figure, smiling. ''Hi!'' she called out, waving. She wasn't even sure if the blood on her hand was real, or she was just seeing things. Rosalind felt more then strange right now, as she was much closer now. And perhaps fortunate, or unfortunate, the blood on her hand was indeed real, very much so. It was the blood of an Urakata that was trying to escape, several hours ago.
The trail had come cold from normal search and thus the trackers were sent out. And unfortunately, Rosalind had already been in the cemetery before it had been cordoned off. So she really had no idea.. and no idea what kind of thing she just walked into.

rosalind Another day, another job. It might have seemed like such a dull thing, working, but the canine Urakata felt more alive during such instances. At least in his line of work. That was one thing he and his partner could fully agree on. Their love for the hunt. Not only did it get his blood pumping but it made him feel accomplished. Like his life actually had some meaning as dark as it might sound. Sure, there were plenty of time he loathed his coworkers but the Shinkansen offered him something he didn't think he'd be able to gain outside of it. Purpose.
These thoughts had to be pushed aside, however, Takeo trailing along side his partner as they tried to track down this apparently elusive urakata. It was a simple runaway mission. The average hunter could handle it. But apparently it was big enough to require their attention. So the hunting pair were called out to the scene, investigating the area the missing urakata had last been placed to decide their next step. Luka had decided not to waste time, however, sending Takeo to check the area for any lead while she gathered whatever information she could from the search party. He was to report back immediately at any sign and with a simple nod, he headed off, determined to find the trail that the others had failed to. His reputation was on the line and he certainly didn't want some pathetic runaway to give him the slip.
Oddly enough, it was rather odd not being near her. Her presence during hunts was something he was adjusted to and partially he was dependent on her. He really hated admitting that. But the german shepherd didn't let that bother him too much, focusing on finding a matching scent to the bit of evidence he was provided with. A broken collar that had belonged to the slave. Crazy how desperate they were to escape. Made him appreciate his job that much more. But also made him curious as to what they were hoping for on the outside. His brows furrowed at the thought, Takeo releasing an irritated huff as he shoved that out of his mind as quickly as it came. More so when something else caught his attention.
Blood.
Takeo stopped in his tracks, surprised by this. Sure, the graveyard typically smelled of death but nothing so fresh. Could it have been from the urakata? He wasn't sure. Even if it wasn't he felt it was necessary to investigate, curiosity getting the best of him. The closer he got, the more scents he discovered. One in particular seemed to be growing closer. Sure enough, a figure approached, the urakata's eyes narrowing with ears flattening as he prepared for anything, only to be surprised by a very friendly ''Hi!' Innocent enough, right? Just a human girl somewhere she really shouldn't be. Of course, her presence was troubling. Rather, the bloodstained hand of hers caught him off guard. Injury? Or evidence?
The tracker silently approached, cautiously of course should she actually be any real danger. He doubted it, but you couldn't be too safe. Once he was close enough, however, he'd grabbed her wrist without consent, checking to see if his eyes and nose were indeed not deceiving him. He was never one to make such a mistake before. Once it was confirmed, he glared at her, blue eyes cold. "What are you doing out here?" he began bluntly. It wasn't safe to be out here. It also made her seem suspicious. "What's with the blood?" he pressed further, grip still around her wrist to assure himself she wouldn't try to run off. Not typically the ideal behavior for an urakata. But for a Shinkansen who was currently trying to do his job, he had to make sure no stone was left unturn. Even if it ended up fucking him over later.
Humans could be quite insulted when a slave spoke up to them in such a way. He'd take his chances, though. The place was supposed to be closed off. She shouldn't even be here. And till he got some answers, he wasn't about to let her just walk out either.

[/b][/font] @doge music: 私ノ七ツノオ祝イニ ∞ Masa-P words: 0555 notes: Oups drugged. and rudeness is fine d/w! credits: Template by PerfectFallacy[/ul][/blockquote][/div] In the dead of night I dance alone, as the entire world is us two No reply. The girl frowned, using her unstained hand to moved her hair, as she knew the long red strands were in the way. She was lightly dressed for the soon to be cold weather; she had her coat that was open, revealing a brown sweater that is off-shoulder, and blank pants. The girl blinked as the figure moved. She was sure it was another illusion; another trick of her mind, as she just looked around. But there was a sense that she shouldn't move away, as the girl looked at the illusion that was stalking towards her. Her eyes roamed over his body, trying to make sense of what she was seeing; namely the ears and tail, as she tilted her head to the side.
Greenish hair, eyes that seemed to be cold and pierce in her soul.. well that didn't really matter, as suddenly, there was a feeling on her bare wrist. Rugged hands, warmth hands, and the slight twitch of nails. ''You're real.'' she let out quietly, before he spoke to her, asking her questions. The red haired girl looked up at him, and her hand reached out, softly touching his cheek; although she had to slightly heighten herself with her toes, being about 5'2 in height. There was a warm cheek, as her fingers were probably really cold; she could feel tenseness and other things in the muscles, as her hand dropped down to her side. It was rude to touch people on the face without asking permission.
''I'm sorry, I didn't mean to touch you without your permission.'' she began, as her mind focused on his questions; or tried to. The foggy look in her eyes was unusual; perhaps it had something to do with the drink that other cosplayer had given her. Frowning she looked around, and then at him. ''I was here.. helping someone I think. They were weird; they had these ears on their head kind of like you. Is that a new way of cosplaying? I don't know.'' she said, clearly showing her ignorance of Urakata.. or rather what station they held in life. The girl then smiled at him, before tilting her head. ''You're really beautiful you know. You could easily be a model or something like that. And you look so warm and fluffy I just want to hug you.'' she added.
Definitely, something in the drink at this point. It was perhaps possible to smell which chemical compound had afflicted the girl; something close to date rape even, but the girl hadn't drank enough for it to go in full tilt. Or rather she thought so, unaware it had been a bit. ''Ah.. the blood. Maybe that's real too, if you are. So that means there's blood.. I'll show you I think. We're going to help right?'' she asked, her voice utterly innocent, but still far out. She felt.. like something was stirring inside, rearing a head, trying to warn her. She gave him a smile, and started to walk, unmindful of the grip on her wrist; well she would get yanked back and fall over if he didn't walk with her though.
She still had no idea of what she had accidentally walked into, because her mind hadn't woken up just yet to the world around her.

rosalind - ''You're real.''
There was something particularly off about this girl, he realized. Blood aside, there was a strange scent coming from her, one that certainly didn't seem natural. A drug of sorts? Before he could actually determine if that were the case or not, his thoughts were shattered with a simple touch, the male freezing from pure shock alone. Not only was the contact unwelcome, but her touch was surprisingly cold. If he was a man actually capable of sympathy, he might have been concerned. More than he already was about the blood, at least. But that was another matter and luckily, she seemed to catch on pretty quick that the gesture wasn't appreciated, retracting her hand as she offered an apology. Takeo tried to shrug it off for now, deciding there were much more important things to currently focus on. Such as her explanation.
- ''I was here.. helping someone I think. They were weird; they had these ears on their head kind of like you. Is that a new way of cosplaying? I don't know.''
Helpful, but just as confusing, really. It seemed like a lead. Surely this eared 'someone' was the urakata they were after. But still, that didn't explain really why she was here or why she was helping them. A sympathizer perhaps? Though the whole cosplay notion threw him off somewhat. He couldn't tell if she was being serious or just plain stupid. Sure there were people out there who dressed up like an urakata (for some strange reason) but it wasn't that hard to tell the difference between a fake and the real deal. Besides, it was rare since it was so controversial. Besides, no one wanted to be mistaken as one of his kind. He didn't seem too bothered by that thought though, quite used to being looked down on. It was just the way things worked.
- ''You're really beautiful you know. You could easily be a model or something like that. And you look so warm and fluffy I just want to hug you.''
A faint flush of red crossed over his face at these words as his ears flattened. He didn't get much compliments like that. If there were, they were usually condescending and meant to insult him. Such as her warm and fluffy comment. He was a fierce hunting dog. The top tracker of the Shinkansen. He wasn't meant to be viewed as cute or cuddly. He was supposed to intimidate you and keep you on your toes when he was around. At least that's what he believed. So such compliments, whether they were genuine or not, were simply brushed aside with a bit of annoyance, the urakata sighing as he glared down to her. "Don't change the subject." he stated flatly, willing the heat in his cheeks to go away. He groaned inwardly at the thought. Last thing he wanted was to be stuck with this obviously intoxicated girl. The sooner he got what he needed, the sooner he could drag her back to someone else to deal with.
- ''Ah.. the blood. Maybe that's real too, if you are. So that means there's blood.. I'll show you I think. We're going to help right?''
She seemed much more cooperative than he'd originally thought. He decided perhaps it was the drugs. She seemed to be talking strangely as well, debating with herself what was real and not. His luck, huh? He frowned at the thought only to feel her began to pull away, his grip still steady on her wrist. She'd meet some resistance at first, the urakata debating on his next move. He was supposed to report back the moment he found something. He felt compelled to follow this order but there was the off chance that the more time they wasted, the further this runaway could get. Besides, he doubted Luka would be too pleased with him just finding a girl instead of the target they were actually looking for. Probably get him an ear full about how useless he was. Yeah.. He decided he'd take the risk.
"Fine. We'll help." he finally spoke up, going one step further to let her go and follow after her. "Just don't try anything stupid." he warned. If she did attempt to make a run for it, it wouldn't end in her favor. He was trained to take down urakata. A human would be no problem. And while attacking humans was frowned upon, he doubted he'd get into much trouble if she were in fact a sympathizer. He really didn't need her leading him, capable of following the smell of blood on his own at this point. But he figured it would be easier to kill two birds with one stone. Keep her nearby if she did prove a vital target for this mission. |

[/b][/font] @doge music: 私ノ七ツノオ祝イニ ∞ Masa-P words: 0814 notes: Well that ran away on me. But hopefully enough for you~ credits: Template by PerfectFallacy[/ul][/blockquote][/div] In the dead of night I dance alone, as the entire world is us two Indeed, it had been rude. She could remember how suddenly, under her touch everything froze still. It was interesting; was there something warm? The fog in her head was like a dancing thing, taunting her eyes and the back of her mind. It was like it was trying to swallow her up within itself, and the girl shook her head to get it out. But it was still there. The male seemed to be listening to what she said, and she had the feeling of police. Someone meant to protect others. So her compliments.. well probably weren't right. But she thought she saw red cheeks; she couldn't be sure since her eyesight blurred slightly, but he told her to not change the subject. Which she had complied with right away.
She blinked, as she looked at the blood, whilst he seemed to be thinking. It was still faintly warm; it didn't have that viscosity of arterial blood, like she had found out when a maid cut her wrist. It felt more.. like something around a stomach? There was a weird tingly feeling from it. The girl felt him pull her back softly, but that was probably because he was thinking. He probably had to report didn't he? But the girl knew, even in this fog, time was tick ticking away. Either he took a chance and reported, or followed the lukewarm trail. She wasn't sure why she knew this much, but the girl put it aside. The male had decided and let her go from his grip.
Which she then promptly lost her balance and fell down. With a grunt, she got back up, and dusted her clothes, her face for a single moment appearing annoyed at the fact she had fallen. ''Okay. Helping is good. And if it's a bad person, then you'll be amazing and take them down.'' she said, expressing her utter and complete confidence in his abilities. After all, she could tell; his structure.. reminded her of Ajax a little but not quite. It was familiar; trained, composed and cold. Though she doubted she could make this one smile like Ajax. She realize though, they had little time, and cleared the fog from her mind; the one that prevented her from being straight. Her memories were still clouded, but.. it didn't matter.
Her body moved forward, and knowing he would be right with her, and not wanting to waste time, she began to ran. But her running wasn't to get away from him; she made sure to indicate that with a small moving sign she had learned. Learned.. when? She couldn't remember. The girl moved, and found the grave stone she had originally landed her hand in, but was now in front of it. Stumbling at her stop, she held to the gravestone, and then pushed herself up. She walked around, and then looked at the blood. With a touch, she could tell; this was the original place. It was colder then the one on her hands. ''This is where it started.'' she muttered to herself.
Despite that the blood on her hand could be warmed by her body, she still remembered the second time she felt it. Without much amble, she walked directly to the next grave. Touching that blood, she could tell it was warmer. It hadn't yet frozen. Trying to think, she knew she couldn't track the person; but she could give an idea. For the single moment in her mind, she saw a shadow figure, stumbling, and then veering.. to the left. The girl stood up, and walked along the less traveled path, finding another patch. Touching it, she nodded. ''I found it.'' she said softly, smiling a bit. She had remembered that! The girl looked expectantly at the male, being sure he had been behind her, and following her, and knowing that he could probably do better.. but she wasn't some slouch.
''I'm pretty sure that whomever it was came this way, and headed towards the small wood patch over there. By the feeling of the blood.. I don't think they'll get there without collapsing once, I think. It's too warm still.. so it hasn't been long.'' she said softly, trying to add what she discovered. Sure the male was cold, but she already felt like she could trust him. He was like a big dog; protective, and distant to strangers in his territory, but aiming to protect from harm. It was almost amusing, and she so wanted to pet him.. but her hands, both of them now, were full of blood. That would be rude if she did that. So she could only hope for his approval, and for them to actually find the person. Maybe she could talk them out.
But something within her suggested caution when approaching whatever was bleeding. She wasn't sure why... but it was there.

rosalind She had fallen which had barely registered much of a reaction aside from the flick of the ears and a mildly confused expression as he looked down to her. More points to her being intoxicated. Or just really clumsy. The line between the two was vague, at least as far as he was concerned. But he didn't worry too much about it, as evidenced by the lack of assistance as she was forced to pull herself up. Well, what did you expect? He was a hunting dog. Not a service one. It simply wasn't in his job description as he would say. And though she seemed slightly annoyed, she didn't seem to linger too much on it, continuing on the conversation and throwing another compliment his way, one that was more likely to be well received by the hound.
He took pride in his abilities and rarely was commended for them (which was probably a good thing), so such compliments were appreciated. But he masked any sort of appreciation, keeping that same stoic look though his eyes seemed to brighten somewhat. "If they aren't dead already." he replied simply. The blood was relatively strong and by the look of her hands, the urakata seemed to be losing a substantial amount. It was a good thing he had already decided to investigate on his own. Sure, Luka might be a bit pissed off by her partner going solo. But if it meant catching their target, he figured he could handle those consequences.
Takeo followed after her, their pace picking up to a run which fortunately for her, he managed understand her intentions weren't meant as an escape attempt. The scent strengthening was enough to confirm that and they soon arrived at the scene. Without missing a beat, he began investigating as well, crouching down in front of one of the blood splattered graves and getting to work. The blood was a bit cold, but still relatively fresh. Even with enough strength, he doubted they could have been far, though. Course, there were some urakata who had amazing willpower that even he had to praise. But he decided to hope for the best in this situation. Before he knew it, however, the girl began moving again and though he was a bit confused as to where she was going, he followed along anyway. She seemed to know where she was going, and not wanting to lose her, it was probably best to stick around.
- ''I found it.''
The german shepherd looked to her as she inspected the blood herself, somewhat caught off guard by how she was acting. Weren't human girls usually squeamish at the sight of blood? Then again, he had found her red handed so why was he so surprised? What he should be questioning was whether she was like this all the time or was it simply whatever drugs she had taken causing her to act this way? He doubted he'd be around long enough to find out anyway so shoved that thought aside, only to be further surprised when she spoke up once again.
- ''I'm pretty sure that whomever it was came this way, and headed towards the small wood patch over there. By the feeling of the blood.. I don't think they'll get there without collapsing once, I think. It's too warm still.. so it hasn't been long.''
His head was tilt to the side in that familiar dog-like manner, obviously quite taken back by her discovery. Or rather the fact that this little girl was actually the one to have made it. He couldn't deny being a bit impressed and even quite curious as to how she was managed to come to that conclusion on her own. But there was no time for questions and once he regained his composure, he nodded in agreement though didn't seem like he was going to give her any praise for her work. Not yet, anyway. She had done pretty decently, for being completely out of it, but he didn't want her getting a big head or anything. Beginners luck, right? He was convinced that was the case anyway.
"Come on then." he began, making his way towards the direction she'd pointed out and expecting her to follow. "Don't fall behind. If it isn't passed out or dead yet, it will attack." he advised, seeming quite sure about the danger there. He was much too familiar to this sort of situation. Urakata really were like animals, especially when hunted. They could be the most innocent and harmless creatures normally, but when they were cornered, they could get pretty threatening. They'd go to any means to keep their freedom, even if it meant killing themselves and others in the process. And though he could hardly give a shit about the girl herself, he didn't want any blood on his hands. He'd of course do his best to protect her from the urakata, that being part of his job at least, but he'd rather not save her ass if he didn't have to. It was much harder fighting when you had to worry about someone other than yourself as well. At least his partner could handle herself in a fight but this girl, he wasn't too sure. Frankly, he was positive at this point she'd be more of a burden than anything, but he couldn't afford to get separated from her right now. It was too dangerous for the girl to be out here on her own to begin with. |

[/b][/font] @doge music: 私ノ七ツノオ祝イニ ∞ Masa-P words: 0550 notes: Sorry for the wait! You can control the NPC as willed =w= (they're a leopard Urakata) credits: Template by PerfectFallacy[/ul][/blockquote][/div] In the dead of night I dance alone, as the entire world is us two Rosalind's mind struggled with understanding the male, but she was sure it was alright. It was just probably something or the other; she didn't understand the whole Urakata stigma thing, because Rosalind was something akin to one of the rare innocents in this world; rich and unaware of the darkness of the world. But there was something.. off too because Rosalind did know of the darkness, had tasted it, had been forced to live it, and yet.. and yet she couldn't remember. Anyone that could track her history would know; it was that obvious and yet the girl herself was wandering, as if unaware of the things that weighted her like a shackle. The drugs within her system allowed her to drift, treat this as a dream; it wasn't real to Rosalind, as she drifted in the mist of unclear thoughts, but slowly something else was coming to. Clarity.
She could think, and act, but soon clarity and understanding was showing itself, more and more. Yes, she could note that the dog seemed surprised, and she showed her hands, blood on them. ''I can feel things.'' she stated, and that was that. To be fair, he had been mostly reactionary to Rosalind herself, so it was fine; but towards the end, he began to guide, as she nodded. He compounded on the feeling she had inside, the danger was near feeling. The red head gave out a shiver, as she looked at the path; the male, she figured out by now, would smell the other. She didn't know how she knew, but maybe the sniffing and stuff tipped her off. Rosalind just knew it wasn't by touch, or by sight, but something else.. hearing wouldn't count, they weren't here. So smell or taste.. and he sure hadn't put it in his mouth.
The girl walked behind him, and then she noted something weird that she walked on. But she kept moving, as it was just squishy; probably more blood. Whatever was bleeding was either dying, or just had so much blood to spare and didn't heal fast enough? Who knew, as the girl felt something akin to fear stir in her chest. But she followed the male before her.
In the path ahead of the two, marked with blood splotches, was an Urakata. What kind? It was hard to tell, as the creature looked humanoid; however, there were sharp ears on the top of it's head, the gender clearly male. The claws on the arms dug into the ground, as the pain lashed harder through him. But it could smell, and knew it would have to fight. As the dog and the girl showed up in the clearing, they spotted a blonde blur; and in it's mouth, lay a knife. The leap was higher then given credit for, and would land behind the girl, to turn around and take her. Of course the leap had been taken from a gravestone, one that was tucked out of sight by bushes. But that didn't change the fact that the Urakata would aim to take the girl as a hostage. That is, if the dog like male would allow the thing to do so.
After all, Rosalind was drugged and human, so she wasn't the quickest one on the block right now.

rosalind His nose would twitch, blue eyes coming to a close as he relied on his strongest sense. Being one of the top trackers, this part came almost naturally to him. He had no doubt he'd find the target in question, it might take a bit of time, but he would find them, one way or another. Once he was on their trail, capture was inevitable. And many seemed to gather that, hopelessly trying to run only to make things much worse on them. But then, there were those rare few, the ones he particularly enjoyed. Those urakata who bothered to put up a fight. It made his job much more fun. Unfortunately, the fun this time around was slightly dulled with unfamiliar company.
His ears would turn back to her as he kept walking ahead, listening to make sure she was still there as well as listening around the general area in case there was something lurking in the darkness. He still wasn't too thrilled with having her tag along at this point but he just couldn't afford to bring her back to Luka and risk losing the runaway. There just wasn't enough time. So not only would he have to capture the urakata on his own but he'd have to make sure the human didn't get hurt in the fray. If the urakata were alive anyway. It was a longshot but he couldn't deny being somewhat impressed by the distance they'd traveled even with the tremendous amount of blood lost. He himself might have to be careful if this one happened to be particularly that strong. He didn't let that thought bother him though. Frankly, he didn't have enough time to think on it too much. Because the sudden increase in smell caught his attention when they reached the clearing. Before he knew it, they were under attack, the Shinkansen dog's eyes widening at the leap.
"Shit."
Takeo, without warning, turned and grabbed the girl, tossing her rather harshly out of the urakata's reach just in time, safely behind the german shepherd once more. If the grip itself didn't hurt, the landing would have been painful. But it was better than getting killed, right? He didn't seem too concerned regardless, glaring darkly at the other urakata while posed defensively in front of the fallen girl. Can't afford getting her killed. This would definitely be much more difficult if the runaway did get his hands on her, and pointless if he'd managed to escape. He was used to having his partner have his back but without her, he supposed he was going to have to rely on his own ability. "Get back." he ordered her, the sound of a knife cutting through the air catching his attention as the dog managed to dodge, the knife having got dangerously close enough to leave a cut across his cheek, blood already beginning to pour. This one was going to put up a fight, it seemed. Stay free or die trying, right? Well Takeo certainly didn't plan on letting him go free, not after that anyway.
The leopard growled angrily, swinging again at Takeo's face only for him to duck, using the urakata's momentum to land a rough kick in his stomach, knocking the wind and his knife out of the big cat momentarily. Not enough to stop him completely, however and Takeo simply remained in his defensive stance, making sure the urakata got nowhere close to the girl. He'd let the cat tire himself out. It looked like he was bleeding out a lot, so surely it wouldn't take long. But Takeo himself couldn't take his sweet time either, else deal with Luka's wrath later. He'd steal a quick glance towards Rosalind to make sure she'd follow his orders before turning his focus back onto the threat. The leopard was much faster than him, so he'd have to watch his movements closely or risk more slashes. And by the looks of those claws, he could still make due without a knife. Of course he got stuck tracking down a cat...
