some coincidences are deliberate

She couldn't really tell if he understood what she was talking about or if he was just asking because he wanted to be polite. Lissette found him fascinating. One moment he appeared mean and pretty scary and the next he seemed like a very nice person. His actions and his expressions seemed to contradict each other. He was a very strange person but Lissette was enjoying his company. He was a mystery to her, which made him very interesting to be around. So finding him still waiting for her was a nice surprise for her.
When he voiced that he didn't have any idea what she was talking about she gave him an apologetic smile. "Well, she put me in charge of the flowers to pick. She just asked that I make the garden colorful so all the flower seeds I chose are really colorful and come in different colors too. Spring should be colorful since winter seems so colorless." She loved winter and the cold, though she was sure that was because she was an arctic fox but the idea of spring and the colors that came with it always appealed to her.
When he agreed to come see them, she brightened even more, her tail wagging slightly fast back and forth as they walked. "Really? Then I'll do my best to help the garden become beautiful!" A look of pure determination crossed her face as they walked. Now that they were moving, she had no idea where they were headed. She hadn't really just walked around for the sake of walking.
With no destination in mind, the world seemed a lot bigger. Lissette wondered how big the world really was. She'd seen pictures in books but she knew that the world couldn't be truly seen from the page of a book. She found herself wanting to see it all for herself. Such a dream was out of her reach though. A passing fantasy that would never pass.
"The world can be both big and small..." She spoke this quietly without really thinking about what she had said or if the boy beside her had even heard her say it.
